The Jaguar E-Type is one of the world’s most iconic cars. Originally unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, it immediately became one of the most recognisable shapes in motoring history. In 2008 it ranked first in the Telegraph’s 100 most beautiful cars of all time list – in this they agreed with Enzo Ferrari, who called it “The most beautiful car ever made”.
The Series 3 E-Type proudly boasted the new Jaguar V12 engine, originally made for racing. This 5.3 litre engine generated 272 hp, and gave a 0-60mph time of less than 7 seconds. Quite remarkable for the time.
The 2+2 Fixed Head Coupe enjoys considerably more room internally than the other models of E-Type and, of course, the hard-top roof gives far more ability for the car to be used in all weathers.
