Mingle with your guests on the East Wing Terrace or in the traditionally appointed reception rooms while you enjoy the discreet 5-star service Bijou offer. Select from a multitude of delicious canapés, cocktails or bubbly, and relax and enjoy life as a married couple before moving back to the Music Room for your intimate wedding breakfast.
Added by Thomas Hartley with the express purposes of entertaining, the Music Room is one of the many rooms you can utilise on your wedding day. Wooden panels lit by a centrepiece chandelier make it perfect for a beautiful wedding banquet for up to 80 day time guests. Large bay windows bathe the room in natural light and allow you to look out on the terrace and gardens as you dine and your guests toast your health, happiness and life together.
Silchester House, as a member of the Bijou Wedding Venues family, benefits from the experience of Bijou’s in-house brigade of banqueting chefs. Banqueting catering is a very specialist branch of the hospitality industry and requires specific processes and practices. The Bijou Chefs are full-time specialists who only work in our banqueting kitchens. Our menus and kitchens are designed with banqueting in mind and in the knowledge that each dish needs to be served in large numbers, at top quality, in very short spaces of time. Of course we also maintain relationships with our suppliers in order to serve what we serve at the best possible price.
Party the night away in the house with the DJ turning The Music Room into a dance floor and the West Wing accommodating your bar and several rooms in which you and your guests can relax and converse. The dining room will host any evening buffet you choose meaning there’s space for everyone and everything. Other reception rooms, resplendent in their authentic décor, original fireplaces and comfortable elegant furnishings provide the perfect environment for conversation and celebration.
Subject to agreement from and approval by the relevant local authorities, fireworks are permitted at Silchester House.
Due to its location in the centre of a village, we are unable to extend the licence at Silchester House. Once non-resident guests have departed, however, you are free to open the bar back up for nightcaps for those staying overnight.
