Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m Frances and I am a professionally trained Makeup Artist based in the South of England. I’ve worked with hundreds of brides across Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey and London, getting creative and perfecting their bespoke wedding look. I bloomin’ love my job! Being asked to be a part of someone’s wedding day is truly special – it’s a position of trust and one which I fully respect.

I’m inspired by many beautiful things: vintage elegance, classic & innovative design, Parisian & Italian beauty.
How would you describe your style and what makes you unique?

My style has definitely been influenced and shaped by the brides I have worked with, and I feel I am a better makeup artist because of this experience. My aim is to always listen to your ideas, colour themes and overall wedding style to design you a look that will make you feel utterly confident and look stunning.

Do you offer specific packages or is it a bespoke service?

I work in a very creative industry where everything is very much bespoke, and designed for the client - therefore, there are no specific packages.  Everything is tailored.  Please do get in touch to discuss your individual requirements.

Do you offer a trial and how long does this usually take?

Having the opportunity to have a bridal makeup trial is so vitally important, as it is paramount for you to have choices for your wedding day.  I treat the trial as a completely open forum where any idea and opinion is welcome.  I usually start with discussing your wedding plans, look through any mood boards and then take into account your ethnicity, eye shape & colour, facial shape and even hair colour to design a bespoke look that I feel is something you’ll feel confident and comfortable with.  The trial usually lasts for an hour to an hour and 15 minutes.

What brands do you use?

In my makeup kit I only use premium branded products which I have carefully chosen for their longevity and performance qualities. These include: Benefit * Bobbi Brown * Chanel * Charlotte Tilbury * Giorgio Armani * Laura Mercier * MAC * NARS * NYX * Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Rosie for Autograph) * Sigma * Smashbox * Urban Decay and Yves Saint Laurent to name a few.

How far in advance should a bride book you?

To secure your chosen wedding date, I highly recommend booking a year in advance.  I usually ask for a deposit when booking to make sure I am completely free on your wedding day.

What are you favourite trends?

I'm currently favouring an unruly brow, slightly unkept boho look (think sunflowers in a field, breathy design)  There is also a new trend called nontouring, which is a slightly less harsh contour with the combination of strobe cream.

What are you expecting to see more mainstream/more common in the next year or two?

Ooh, that's a tough one!  Trends seem to change every week, even everyday. What seems to stay true is the confidence brides have to follow what is right for them in terms of makeup design, and not what is currently 'trendy'.

If you were getting married, what look would you go for and why?

I actually did my own makeup design for my wedding, after researching and practicing the look (which is vital) and I am still proud of the look I did. However, if I had the chance to do it again I might have gone a bit more daring with the lipstick colour...maybe a purple?

Do you have any beauty tips you could offer?

It seems to be a cliché to mention water when referring to any sort of beauty or health regime - but nevertheless, this tonic is the key to banishing skin dullness and keeping blemishes at bay.  So should be taken regularly as soon as you start wedding planning to get the full health benefit, it will also keep you more alert and help combat stress levels which is a real bonus!
