The Proposal

Victoria was introduced to Ben over brunch with mutual friends. The couple clicked instantly and after several years of dating and when the time felt right, Ben whisked Victoria away for a belated birthday surprise to Venice. After dragging her around the whole city in under three hours (due to his nerves), Ben finally plucked up the courage to pop the question whilst the couple were enjoying a private water taxi ride on their way to dinner. Ben had secretly designed an engagement ring for his bride-to-be with a jeweller friend of his. Ben got down on one knee, asked Victoria to marry him, then opened up a box to reveal a sparkly diamond ring inside.

The Wedding Dress

Victoria went shopping for her wedding dress in Essex and tried on only three gowns in the same shop and instantly found ‘the one’. The design that she chose made her feel like a bride from an Estee Lauder advert. The classic, white satin gown, designed by San Patrick made Victoria think that this particular style of gown would never date; she never wanted to tire of looking at her dress in her wedding photographs in the future. To complete her bridal style, Victoria bought a sparkly pair of Jimmy Choos – to match the sparkle in her fabulous engagement ring. The bride felt like a true Cinderella on her wedding day.

When it came to her bridal hair and beauty, Victoria hired her most trusted hair dresser, Leigh-Anna Marcus; the bride opted for a simple yet elegant, half-up half-down style. For her bridal makeup she commissioned ELISA Drummond who made Victoria feel absolutely beautiful.

Choosing the Wedding Venue

During their wedding venue search, Victoria and Ben looked at around 15 different properties before falling in love with Botleys Mansion. They loved the fact that Botleys Mansion could comfortably cater for their 185 wedding guests; the venue felt like a home for Royals – a place where they could be lord and lady for the day. They also found the Bijou online planner really useful. The couple felt in control of everything during their planning experience and could keep on top of all of their wedding plans with ease.

The Bridal Party

When it came to the bridal party, Victoria chose five bridesmaids; Jenny, Anna, Holly, Daniela and Kay. The girls shopped for bridesmaid’s dresses together, with the bride, and ended up choosing a dusky pink gown which tied in with Victoria’s natural wedding theme perfectly.

Ben chose to have not one, but two best men on the big day, and four ushers. Alex, Martin, Ross, Darren, Adam, Elliot and the groom Ben all hired their stylish wedding suits from Dapper Formalwear.

The Big day: 31st July, 2016

Victoria and Ben celebrated a Jewish wedding ceremony outside in The Temple Garden at Botleys Mansion. The bride walked down the white-carpet aisle on the arm of her brother Ross, to the song, ‘A Thousand Years’, played by a string quartet. The ceremony was traditional and absolutely beautiful. A white cover and bow was placed on every chair, and the aisle was lined with fresh petals and candles lit in hurricane lanterns. The top of the aisle was decorated with extravagant white and green floral arrangements designed by Sonning Flowers and the couple exchanged vows in the early afternoon.

After some celebratory drinks and lots of memorable photographs, the newlywed couple and their wedding guests enjoyed a sumptuous banquet in The Atrium. The bride and groom made their entrance down the grand stair case before being served a red onion and goats cheese tart for a starter, chicken with seasonal vegetables and a potato stack for a main course and a trio of desserts consisting of crème brulee, sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake. The wedding reception tables were decorated with a combination of tall and short floral arrangements, flourishing with peonies and freesias, that had once again been created by the amazing team at Sonning Flowers. For wedding favours, Victoria and Ben gave their guests a Celtic love knot wine stopper and when it came to having a special place for guests to drop cards, the couple hired the Bijou postbox.

After the speeches, the newlyweds cut their wondrous wedding cake. The 4-tier wedding cake featured a different flavour in each tier ensuring that everyone got a slice they liked; the variety of flavours were fruit, chocolate, lemon and red velvet. The design of the cake was very classic and fitted in perfectly with Victoria and Ben’s natural wedding theme. Floral décor and a striking gold-leaf tier completed the look.

To add a bit of fun to their wedding reception, Victoria and Ben created a #hashtag station where people could use the hashtag #RosenthalWedding to print their pictures instantly. The couple also hired light up LOVE letters to stand near the dance floor to give the room another dimension. The couple danced their first dance to ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ by Alicia Keys and ONE Entertainment kept the dance floor full all night. Just before the end of the evening, the bride tossed her bouquet to the hopeful single girls in the crowd – the perfect ending to a dream wedding day.

The Honeymoon

The newlywed couple travelled to Chicago, San Diego, LA and Bora Bora for their honeymoon. The couple chose the destinations together, but Ben ended up planning all the different elements of their trip by himself. Needless to say, they had a wonderful time!
