A Stunning Summer Wedding at Botleys Mansion for Anna and Steve

Anna and Steve shared their vows in The Atrium at Botleys Mansion during the height of the beautiful British summer, 2016. The couple chose an elegant wedding colour scheme of navy and gold to feature throughout their day.

About the Couple

The story of Anna and Steve began when they met at their local gym, where Anna worked as a personal trainer.

On Christmas Eve 2015 the family were celebrating an early Christmas Day together. This was the night that Steve and the help of his sidekick Beau (the family dog) decided that after 6 ½ years of him and Anna being together, he was going to propose to his girl in the most meaningful and sentimental way he knew how…

After a festive Christmas Eve morning of opening presents, Anna was excited to see their dog (Beau) running up to her, wearing a pair of Santa trousers around her neck. To her complete surprise Beau was carrying the engagement ring!

With his daughter jumping on the sofa with excitement, Steve sat next to his future wife and started their wedding planning journey together with one simple question…
“So what do you think?”

The Perfect Wedding Dress

When searching for the perfect wedding dress this bride knew exactly what she wanted. Anna was not only looking for a beautiful wedding dress but importantly something that was super comfortable.

After trying on about 15 beautiful wedding dresses, Anna put on a gown and instantly knew that it was ‘The One’. The bride decided on a gorgeous fitted gown with a detailed lace overlay, elegant low back and a show-stopping cathedral train, designed by Martina Liana.

Anna completed her bridal style with an amazing pair of Roland Cartier shoes. Her hair and make-up was done by her Maid of Honor and one of her bridesmaids – an advantage of having talented best friends!

Choosing a Wedding Venue

Anna and Steve had viewed two other wedding venues before visiting Botleys Mansion. The couple were amazed by the magnificent glass-roofed Atrium and as soon as they walked down the grand staircase Anna said “we fell in love”.

They found the setting of this Surrey wedding venue to be perfect for what they were looking for and with their guest numbers of 130, this grand and unique space created the perfect atmosphere for both day and evening requirements.

With an 8-month countdown from when they first got engaged to when their wedding day arrived, Anna and Steve felt that Emma (their Wedding Planning Manager) and the Bijou team really helped make the whole process easy, organised and stress free from start to finish. They commented, “The online planner was a dream.”

The Bridal Party

Anna chose her four best friends, her sister and Steve’s two children to be a part of her big day and lead her down the aisle.

With all of her bridesmaids wearing beautiful navy dresses and the groomsmen wearing complementary navy suits teamed with champagne gold ties, the colour scheme worked perfectly, combined with the elegant white aisle carpet and the white floral arrangements that decorated the ceremony.

The Big Day - 12th August, 2016

Anna and Steve were married on Friday 12th August, 2016 at Botleys Mansion, surrounded by 130 of their closest friends and family members. After being led in by their bridal party, Anna was walked down the grand staircase aisle by her father. The background music, ‘I’m Kissing you’ by Des’ree, was a perfect touch to creating their dream wedding ceremony atmosphere.

During their wedding ceremony they had two readings, one from the bride’s mother and one from a family friend. Both readings were personalised and adapted to make it even more special and meaningful to the couple.

Being blessed with such a stunning summer’s day, the newlyweds and their guests were able to enjoy their wedding reception with fizz and photos outside, taking in the beautiful surroundings and grounds of the venue.

After their post-ceremony celebrations, the bride and groom made their grand entrance at the top of The Atrium staircase as Mr and Mrs. The couple then sat down to a traditional three course wedding banquet that they’d previously selected at a Wedding Planning Wednesday. Their meal consisted of smoked salmon to start, sticky beef as a main course and treacle tart for dessert.

Anna and Steve’s planned flawless table decorations. With alternating large and small floral centerpieces, candles and petals decorating the tables, they created a perfect vision that fit their whole day and style.

Once finishing their meal and enjoying three funny and emotional speeches, Anna and Steve cut through their dramatic 6-tier, white and gold wedding cake. This amazing cake, created by Foxy Cakes had different flavours in each tier and was hand-finished with glamorous white and gold embellishment.

During the night Anna tossed her bouquet to her eager single friends; luckily it was caught by one of her close friends and she was proposed to just one month later, the same way Steve proposed to Anna one month after she caught a bouquet at her best friend’s wedding.

Anna and Steve had their first dance to ‘If I ain’t got you’ by Alicia Keys, before continuing the party with music from a band called Capital Groove and great music from DJ Dan. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day!

The Honeymoon

For wedding gifts, the couple kindly asked their guests for contributions towards their honeymoon. Anna and Steve chose to celebrate their marriage somewhere that they both loved; what better place to go than sunny Mexico? Mexico was the perfect place to end their incredible wedding journey and to start the next chapter of their lives.
