Laura & Ian - Cain Manor

Primary school teacher Laura married BMW sales exec Ian at Cain Manor on Thursday 7th August 2014

THE STORY

The Preparation:
Cain Manor was one of the very first venues we saw, we fell in love instantly with its character and history. It was a beautiful sunny day when we visited and I think it was sunny every time we visited after that. It wasn’t too big or too small- we wanted to move in!

The Planning Process:
The planning process was made 100 percent easier due to the online planner and our wedding manager. Having two years allowed us to take our time, and we had advice every step of the way from Cain Manor (who were brilliant at putting up with my indecisiveness!)

The wedding menu was really difficult to pick- everything was delicious! In the end we chose a roasted vegetable tart to start, with beef for main and sticky toffee pudding for desert. Being a teacher, I did most of the work in the holidays which allowed for a break from wedding planning in term-time.

The Theme:
Classic elegance, traditional, old Hollywood glamour with vintage touches.

Bridal bouquet of spring flowers
Wedding cars waiting to transport the bride to church

The Day:

Funnily enough I was more excited than nervous, I felt completely at ease and was so excited and ridiculously happy- I couldn’t believe it was finally happening. I will remember walking down the aisle forever, seeing Ian at the other end. I was so excited and happy to see him, and knew that it was 100 percent the best decision we could be making.

The Reception:
We had champagne and Pimms and the photos took place outside in the gardens in the glorious 25 degree August sunshine.

The evening:
We had Riot! (warble entertainment) in the evening to play the acoustic first dance which was the  Lighthouse Family’s ‘You and Me’.They then played loads of great rock music. We also had a photobooth provided by Senior Mac Photography (outside as it was lovely and warm till late!) with great props including silly glasses, wigs and feather boas.

Where was your honeymoon?
St Lucia at a couples only all-inclusive resort. Pure bliss!
