A Double Celebration with a Black Tie Theme at Botleys Mansion for Charlotte and Ryan

About the Couple

Charlotte and Ryan were introduced at a Kanye West concert and hit it off from the very beginning. They spent 7 years enjoying each other’s company before heading off on a romantic holiday that would result in changing the rest of their lives forever. On a private beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Ryan proposed to Charlotte with a dream engagement ring that he’d designed without any input at all from his bride-to-be. Charlotte loved her new ring and the couple spent 5 months chatting about that kind of wedding they’d like to celebrate before booking their glamorous wedding venue in Surrey, Botleys Mansion.

Finding A Beautiful Wedding Dress

Charlotte tried on 10 wedding dresses before going back to buy the very first one she’d tried on. The strapless, mermaid style wedding dress was covered in lace and looked simply divine on the bride. Charlotte loved the way that the Pronovias design felt and how the beautiful detailing across the dress really stood out. It was the perfect dress to wear to her New Year's Eve wedding at Surrey's glamorous Botleys Mansion.

The bride wanted to remain the height of class throughout the day and therefore chose a comfortable pair of Carvela shoes to save her having to change in to something less stylish later on in the evening. Two of her bridesmaid pinned her hair up in to a sparkly jewelled clip and Charlotte hired expert Make-Up artist Melissa Sophia, famous for make-overs on the TV show 100% Hotter, aired on Channel 5.

The Bridal Party

Charlotte had 6 bridesmaids to support her on the big day and the couple’s 4 year old niece as a flower girl. As the theme of the New Year's Eve wedding was Black Tie, it felt only natural for the bridesmaids to wear luxurious floor-length gowns in black.

Ryan had two Best Men on the day and the groom’s party all bought Tailor Made Tuxedos from Saville Row in London. Everyone looked absolutely perfect for the special occasion. The couple’s toddler son also looked adorable in his mini Tuxedo as he walked down the aisle with a sign which read ‘Daddy Here Comes Mummy’.

Booking The Perfect New Year's Eve Wedding Venue

Charlotte and Ryan spent hours browsing the internet in search of the perfect Surrey wedding venue in which to host their romantic New Year's Eve wedding. In fact, they only viewed Botleys Mansion in person and got an instant feeling of ‘yes, this is the one’ when they visited the Palladian country house. Their visit to Botleys Mansion made them both very emotional and they were delighted that it ticked all of their boxes. Charlotte found Bijou’s online wedding planner extremely helpful and doesn’t know how brides at other venues manage to plan their day without it. It was a great way for the couple to be in constant contact with the Wedding Planning Management Team at Botleys Mansion.

The Big Day: 31st December, 2016

After getting ready at the venue on the morning of the wedding, Charlotte and Ryan were married in the elegant Green Room during the early afternoon. The bride and her father walked down the aisle to the sounds of Pachelbel Canon in D, played by a string quartet, and two readings were shared during the ceremony; one romantic and one with a touch of humour. After saying their vows in front of their 107 guests, with a backdrop of a truly gorgeous floral wall, the couple were pronounced as husband and wife and they headed back down the aisle with huge smiles on their faces.

After celebratory drinks, the couple and their guests were invited down in to the glamorous ballroom where they enjoyed a grand three-course banquet and fine wine. The couple chose to decorate their reception tables in a sophisticated, classic style. ‘Snow in Love’ scented Yankee Candles were lit to add glamorous touch and the florist, Black Orchid, decorated half of the tables with tall arrangements featuring white roses. The reception tables in the glamorous Atrium came alive with sparkly diamante table crystals, silver sequined chair covers, personalised boxes of Tic Tacs, and snowflake pins given as wedding favours; the couple had donated money to a cancer charity in order to remember both of their grandfathers. The newlyweds had also hired a decorative supplier, Pudding Bridge, to help make their New Year's Eve wedding party look spectacular.

During their communication with Bijou's Wedding Planning Management Team, Charlotte and Ryan decided to hire some of the wonderful accessories that Bijou Weddings had to offer. They hired a post box, the pop corn machine, the sweetie cart and a selection of crystal trees to give their wedding reception tables an added touch of winter sparkle.

The couple invited a further 58 guests to join them during the evening reception. Instead of ordering a traditional wedding cake, Charlotte and Ryan opted for a tower of vanilla cupcakes, designed by Brenda at Sugarcups; guests were offered a cupcake during the evening reception. When the doors were pulled back in the ballroom to reveal the dance floor, over-sized light up letters, hired from Mighty Fine Entertainment, spelled out the couple’s surname. These looked fantastic and were a great back drop for photographs. The couple also hired a DJ, casino tables and an inflatable photo booth from Inflatapod which was a huge hit.

The couple danced their first dance to a song called ‘Flowers’ by Charlotte Haining and as the clock struck midnight, guests celebrated with the newlywed couple as they all brought in the New Year together.

Wedding Memories

Instead of setting up a traditional wedding gift list, the couple asked for money to put towards a dream honeymoon. Together, the new Mr & Mrs chose to spend their honeymoon on the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Lucia and they considered it a well-deserved break after all of their busy wedding planning.

The couple cried happy tears, smiled and laughed throughout their entire wedding day and said that it truly was the most magical day, celebrated with everyone they love so dearly. Charlotte and Ryan advise future wedding couples not to stress and remember to take it all in as the day goes by very quickly!
