There are several options for your wedding breakfast at the Chateau. In terms of entertaining spaces you can dine en plaine aire on the terrace, inside in Le Grand Salon or, if you wish to, you can hire a marquee. In terms of catering, you are free to work with local caterers (we recommend Comme Une Abeille in Montelimar) or to use the Bijou in-house team if you choose to do so.
The dream for any Provençal wedding must surely be to enjoy your wedding breakfast al fresco – with the smell of the pines, olives and lavender mingling in the pleasant warmth of the evening sun. Le Terrace can host up to 120 for your wedding banquet.
The backup option for summer weddings (just in case the Mistral blows!) is Le Grand Salon, which can host up to 70 guests for your wedding breakfast. If you have a larger wedding and need to eat inside, the Main Hall can provide a further backup option for another 60 guests.
If you wish to hire a marquee and erect it in the grounds then the sky’s the limit – there are several flat areas that are perfect for this and doing so will of course provide some protection from the elements if you wish to have a larger wedding.
There are no restrictions (other than the law!) on what you can or cannot do to entertain yourselves during your wedding at the Chateau du Bijou. The entire estate is yours exclusively for the entire weekend of your wedding and local tradition expects at least one ‘nuit blanche’ (white night), whereby the party doesn’t even think about ending before dawn. There are no restrictions on licensing, fireworks, or music and there are no neighbours to disturb, no matter how hard you try.
